Songkran (Thai New Year) is a time where we like to give back to our community, but more specifically, we like to give back to those less fortunate. This year, we introduced the ‘Songkran Special Meal Deal’ and with every Songkran Special sold, we’re giving R5 of that purchase to the FeedSA foundation, a non-profit organisation aimed to establish feeding programmes and education within townships.
We selected 4 of our most popular dishes, paired them with a Lipton Ice Tea to sweeten the deal and encourage our loyal customers to “help us help FeedSA.”
After 1 month of the campaign, we are exceptionally pleased to announce that we have sold 6,018 Songkran Specials… which means that you have helped us raise over R 30,090.00 for FeedSA!
Thank you, South Africa!
But that’s not all, last week we told you about the generous contribution from two of our stores. On Tuesday, 30 April 2013, Simply Asia Durbanville and Simply Asia Krugersdorp agreed to donate their entire days turnover to FeedSA. Once again, you, our loyal customers, joined us in this worthy initiative, and together we raised R15,875.88 at Simply Asia Durbanville and R10,911.41 at Simply Asia Krugersdorp!
That brings the whopping total monies raised for FeedSA to R56,877.29!
Our Songkran Special runs until 31 May 2013, so we still have a chance to raise even more funds for FeedSA! Just visit your nearest Simply Asia and order 1 (or more, if you like) of the 4 Songkran Special Meal Deals:
- 303: Chicken with basil & chilli stir-fry
- 409: Roasted chilli paste & mushroom stir-fry
- 514: Chicken with roasted chilli paste & cashew nut noodles
- 623: Seafood Thai rice
All these Songkran Special Meal Deals come with a Lipton Ice Tea (Peach or Lemon) and are sold for only R65. Don’t forget, for every Songkran Special sold, we’re giving R5 to FeedSA.
About FeedSA:
FeedSA is a non-profit organisation whose main aim is to establish feeding programmes and education within the townships for all those who receive no other forms of funding whatsoever, and for children who go to school with an empty stomach. They also implement the building and setting up of creches, from the infrastructure to the operations and curriculum. FeedSA focuses on the JHB area (from Alexandra Township, Soweto, Orlando West, Orange Farm and the West Rand), but also have several benefactors in the KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape regions (click here to read about the one benefactor we visited in Zola Township, Somerset West).
