With all the exciting things going on – new stores, the end of our Think Thai for a Change campaign and the planning of our next campaign, we are now in need of a full time Marketing Assistant to join the Marketing Department. The individual appointed will provide administrative and practical support and assistance to the Marketing Manager and the operational requirements of the Marketing Department for both the Simply Asia and Wang Thai brands.

The successful candidate will be exposed to national marketing campaigns, locality marketing campaigns (specific to our stores and targeting their surrounding areas), ATL advertising, new media, and trade shows. This is a very fast paced and demanding environment and requires a person who is eager to get involved, show initiative, take ownership of their responsibilities and have fun!
General Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide administrative and practical assistance to the Marketing Manager on national and regional media and marketing campaigns, events, activities, fundraising, charitable and sponsorship opportunities.
- Assist with administrative tasks pertaining to the position and the Marketing Department’s day-to-day operational activities.
- Coordinate distribution of marketing material.
- Administer and coordinate marketing related workshops and meetings.
- Administer and coordinate franchisee marketing requests.
- Coordinate the process of sending briefs to the advertising agency, approval of cost estimates, artwork and production.
- Handling the customer care process.
- Assist and support with all the planning, coordinating and execution of events.
- Coordinate inventory of branded marketing material.
- Maintain the brand’s customer database and ensure it is kept up to date.
- Research new opportunities for the brand including tradeshows and events to participate in, and innovative ways to leverage brand awareness.
- Research marketing, advertising, franchising and restaurant industry related events, exhibitions, conferences, etc.
- Monitor social media activities.
- Track, record and collate all publicity received and media clippings.
- Prepare monthly summarised reports on media clippings, twitter tracking and Facebook insights.
- Track competitor initiatives.
Requirements
- Marketing, Public Relations or similar qualification
- Minimum of 1 – 2 years in a similar role
- Fully computer literate
- Customer service
- Minute taking and compiling contact reports
- Strong and meticulous organiser
Advantageous
- Social media experience
- Knowledge of WordPress
- Knowledge of franchising environment
- Knowledge of working with an advertising agency

Remuneration: R10,000 – R11,000 p/month basic salary
